Scouse Soul Stew was an arts and health project which took place in various neighbourhoods in Liverpool over 2009. The project aims to examine the ingredients of life in Liverpool that are important to the community, that enrich lives and nourish souls.
The project was commissioned by Liverpool Primary Care Trust and was led by UHC in partnership with culturepool and Metal. The engagement analysed relationships between healthcare providers and the community, looked at artists' approaches to communication and facilitation and created some new work building on UHC's existing tools.
Events took place at various venues in the area with food and discussion. Each event was recorded by an illustrator, who documented the discussions live. The outcomes of the discussions have been summarised in a huge illustrated map and recipe booklet, Including pictures of some of the 16 banners produced during the project that depict the chosen 'ingredients for a healthy community' chosen by local people.

The project concluded in October with several public weaving workshops, where the community's banners were woven into one huge cloth wall hanging.
